Obituary for Christine Lalama

Christine R. Lalama, 35, of W. Cherry St., went to be the Lord after her courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family on February 1, 2011 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born on August 4, 1975 in New Castle, Christine was the daughter of James D. Pezzone, Jr.and Carol Fidell Elisco. Her parents survive and reside in New Castle. She married Joseph D. Lalama on October 12, 2002. He survives.

Christine was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Parish.

She had worked as a secretary for Matthews Wall Anchor Service, prior to that Christine worked as a Business Development Manager at McElwain Motors in Ellwood City.

Christine was a 1993 graduate of New Castle High School. She was very involved with Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society and became an advocate for testing and the importance of early detection. Christine enjoyed traveling, motorcycling and loved spending time with her
family.

In addition to her husband and parents, Christine is survived by a daughter, Annalynn Lalama at home; a brother, James D. Pezzone III and fiance Kymberley of Broadrun, VA; three sisters, Melinda Moore and husband Ryan, Natalie Pezzone, Stephanie Mastropietro and husband Joseph, all of New Castle; her stepmother; Tina Pezzone, her stepfather; David Elisco, paternal grandmother; Katherine Pezzone, maternal grandmother, Gilda Fidell, both of New Castle; mother-in-law and father-in-law; Peter and Josephine Lalama, also of New Castle.

She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Victor Fidell and James Pezzone, Sr.

Visitation is Thursday from 4PM to 8PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St.

A funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Friday morning at 10:30AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Vincent De Paul Parish. Rev. Father Steven Palsa will officiate.

Burial will take place at St. Lucy Cemetery
